Wind Power

When the enviro-freaks are through telling us how good the wind power is, it may be important to remember that the total amount of energy that it puts into the grid world wide is slightly less than 2%. That would compare to nuclear power 20%, coal 45%, hydro-electric 7%, natural gas 24%. I couldn't find the percentage for solar power, but I figure it is still hovering around .006%. In other words, insignificant on a global scale.

Some things that I never see on the news or even hear being reported in the news are the mounting failures of these gigantic fans or the mounds of dead birds at the base of them. I'm guessing that doesn't fit with the present administrations "green" agenda, or something.

When algore began his con he was snickered at behind his back and just kinda patronized by the then main stream media, this being a spinoff of the global warming con. People and compamies have jumped on the bandwagon that is "wind energy" because of the extra ordinary government money that comes with it. There is not one voice in the media that thinks that the failures are a newsworthy item.

There are some watchdog groups that are documenting failures of the braking systems, improper installs, lightning strikes, seal failures, you name it it is happening. Worldwide the failures are astounding. One such group, The Industrial Wind Action Group has hundreds of such failures documented. This will never be a reliable source of electicity. I have no doubt that if a man put one on his land and did the upkeep himself and didn't just leave it and hope it worked it would supply his home with enough electricity....when the wind blows.

If we are going to cultivate a renewable source of energy, it will not be wind turbines. It may be fusion, fission, nuclear, maybe a combination of all, or even an as yet unnamed source by the "Bill Gates" of energy. Right now the only thing we have going for us is the nuclear plants and the freaks are going to protest them whenever they start to build. Heck, they'll be protesting when they plan to build. Until that ends we will be doing what we do, until the coal runs out.

I Miss Her

On June 26 of this year a very good friend of many years passed away. Maybe "putting pen to paper" will help to ease the incredible pain I feel. I have not kept in touch like I wish now that I had. I can give many reasons why but I guess what it comes down to is that she had her family and career and I had my family and career. She was an award winning writer, an artist, a sportswoman, and a champion fisherman.

I met and worked with Karen in '74 or maybe ’75. After 35years, parts of my memories aren’t quite so vivid. I do remember that we were a great team back then. We went to Oklahoma City to a CB jamboree to meet some of my friends from around the country. That is where I gave her the handle “Somethin' Special”, and she was…always will be for me. We drove through a snow storm to Colorado Springs just to watch a hockey game because she knew that I liked the game and my team was playing.

I was driving a truck cross-country at the time and really wasn’t looking for a relationship, long term or otherwise. We were just friends. If we had stayed together and in touch who knew what would happen, as it was I was just happy that there was someone to make a phone call to, to laugh with, to talk to when I was lonely. I suppose that I should say that she was married at the time. Separated, but married, a fella named Dan Dotts. I never met him. I was just astounded that anyone could be married to Karen and either cause or want to be separated.

Back then I was hauling swinging beef out of Pampa, Texas to Green Bay, Wisconsin from and to a place called Packerland(imagine that) Packing. I would get to see her every week for a few hours or maybe we would just take a road trip and find a likely café and have dinner. Most times it was good, but others either she, or I would be in a funk and it would be a not so good day.

I bought my own truck and went outlaw, or gypo, whatever you want to call it. The hauls were longer and I didn’t get back to Amarillo very often. One day I loaded a load of gift fruit in Mission Texas for Fairbanks Alaska. I had only run the AlCan once before and didn’t look forward to it but it paid so damm good I couldn’t turn it down. I called Karen from San Antonio and asked her if she wanted to go and she said no. A kinda joke between us, she never did go with me on the truck, she was too responsible for that. I suppose this little story is a long way around saying that I didn’t see Karen again for a long time after that. I called her from Delta Junction on the way back, I’ll remember it forever. She told me that she and Dotts had gotten back together. I knew then that our day was done. I thought it was okay to see her when she was alone but I would never think to intrude on her after she went back to him. She really brought out the best in me. I picked up a load of apples in Kelowna BC going to Boston Mass and pretty much stayed on the northern routes of the US and Canada. I called one more time and Dotts answered the phone, so I quietly hung up and didn't call again.

In 1981 I met and married Kelley Jo and went to work in the oilfields in the derricks until the bottom fell out, I went back to driving truck until Justin was born, went to work in the shop, never driving trucks again. In 2000 I suffered a severe head trauma playing ice hockey with the senior leagues downtown and spent a month in the neuro-unit at BSA surprising everyone with my recovery.

Just after being released to go back to work I walked into the Civic Center, a job fair was going on. Karen was at the Pantex booth and she recognized me. I have no idea how and the fact that she recognized me and I did not recognize her will haunt me. Of course when she told me who she was I immediately remembered everything. We talked for a few minutes and said our goodbyes….again.
There are so may things that I think of now that I would have liked to ask her. Just thinking about it, I could have talked for hours. I kinda blame my injury for not asking the things that I would now like to know. She was married with kids, I had been married to Kelley and had Justin to raise. I sent her a couple of emails and we stayed in touch that way for a while, but that was the last time I saw her.

I want to make it plain to all readers that we were friends. We were never romantically involved, sure we kissed and joked and had fun but that was it. I would especially make that point to Kelley or Sam or any who read this. I loved Karen and I am still in love with her memory. I won’t get into the woulda, shoulda, coulda part. The times we had were very precious to me, but they don’t compare to the times I had with Kelley. I do, however, regret not calling her at least once or twice a year just to say hi, how are ya? I wasn’t sure how welcome that would be but I could have tried…. We were too close and I will never forgive myself.

The photos are from her outdoors articles from the Amarillo Globe news, except the one of she and I together. That one was taken in Oklahoma City. We were on our way to a steakhouse called Sleepy Hollow Supper Club, an out of the way place I discovered in the late 60s when I was transporting race horses. Funny the small things a man can remember and the large things he can't. The picture was taken by Sonny Blevins, my best friend in the world. I don’t have far to visit either of them, they now reside in the same cemetery.

I suppose some will say this is the ramblings of a bitter old man feeling sorry for himself. I suppose that’s true to an extent. The world is a poorer place without her in it and I believe that I am a better, not bitter, man for having known her.

I began this by saying I thought that writing it down would help…. It doesn’t.

I miss her.

US Government v. States?

There are many arguments against the government forcing the states and the people to use a particular health care proposal. One that is now just gaining traction is the constitutionality of the government forcing people to accept health care. There are many out there that are making compelling arguments that this administration or any administration is able to force this bill on the people.

I feel the argument the government will use is the commerce clause of the Constitution where the government is allowed to control virtually everything that travels between the states. That means if the medicines, medical utensils, even I suppose ideas come from another state the Feds can control it.

Now, I havebeen studying antitrust laws at work and I believe that these people who are opposing this plan have a point. Under the Sherman and Clayton Acts of the United States code Title 15 nobody is allowed to monopolize or conspire to monopolize any form of industry or trade.

"Section 1. Every contract, combination in the form of trust or otherwise, or conspiracy, in restraint of trade or commerce among the several States, or with foreign nations, is declared to be illegal. Every person who shall make any contract or engage in any combination or conspiracy hereby declared to be illegal shall be deemed guilty of a felony, and, on conviction thereof, shall be punished by fine....

Section 2. Every person who shall monopolize, or attempt to monopolize, or combine or conspire with any other person or persons, to monopolize any part of the trade or commerce among the several States, or with foreign nations, shall be deemed guilty of a felony, and, on conviction thereof, shall be punished by fine...."

I believe that under these points laws have already been broken. I'm sure that this will be challenged in the courts, the federal courts and the SCOTUS will have to make the final decision. We will then find out how "stacking the courts" has worked for this government. It is pretty black & white in both cases, If they find a way to color it grey we will know that the people have lost.

Alex Rossi, Europe correspondent

Lorry drivers on European roads face the same dangers of hijack as ships off the coast of Somalia, a new report by the EU's police agency suggests.

Facing a similar threat: lorry drivers in Europe and ships off Somalia Organized crime groups see truckers as "easy pickings", said Europol. The cargoes being driven across the continent are often valuable, easy to sell on and not protected. Attacks against haulage firms in the EU are now costing the industry billions of pounds every year. Truckers are said to be most at risk in eastern European destinations like Romania, Hungary and Poland. A recent survey by the International Road Transport Union shows one in six truck drivers has been attacked in the past five years - and one in five of them has been targeted more than once. Road-related cargo crime threatens the principle of free movement of goods across Europe.

Rob Wainwright, Director of Europol

Almost half of the attacks took place in truck parking areas, with the motive in most being to steal the vehicle and its goods. Europol is now warning drivers across the EU to be more vigilant, saying the criminal gangs - known by truckers as "land pirates" - are well organized. The crews often gather intelligence to track the most profitable cargoes - sometimes trailing a truck for up to 200 miles. Often they will mark the vehicle or break a small hole in a rear light, making them easier to shadow.

"Road-related cargo crime threatens the principle of free movement of goods across Europe," said Europol director Rob Wainwright. He also warned national police forces: "Close co-operation and joint efforts are necessary, otherwise we will not be able to match criminals who are both innovative and cruel in their actions and behaviour." Europol says certain cargoes are more at risk than others. There is a rise, for instance, in thieves targeting lorries carrying nickel and copper. Items like alcohol, cigarettes, computers, brand clothing and prescription drugs are also high on the criminals' list.

Like I say, Labour don’t protect us. We should kick out illegal immigrants and move away from the EU. Do you know that over 75% of our laws are from the EU!!! We must act now and never vote Labour or Liberal! EVER!

David

I get a lot of info from my trade magazines. This story was borrowed from Fleet Owner, a magazine that I thoroughly enjoy. I included a comment (one of many) that shows the mindset of the lorrie drivers of Europe and also in South Africa. I would think it is the thinking of the remaining conservatives in those countries. Those that actually work for a living.

Let me say that I don't think the lorrie drivers are allowed to arm themselves in defense.

Is this a harbinger of things to come? I remember back in the late 70s, during the Carter debacle there were a lot of truck hijackings. In this new "Carter-like" administration will there be a repeat?

Another Tax

While perusing one of the many trade magazines of the industry, I ran across this little jewel. Normally the Waste & Recycling News is pretty one-way on the side of the enviros. I applaud their fairness in printing anothers opinion.

Report: Cap-and-trade legislation could result in job loss

April 29 -- Greenhouse gas cap-and-trade legislation such as that proposed by the Obama administration and under discussion in the House could result in the loss of more than 3 million jobs by 2030, according to a recently released report.
In addition, the legislation could cost the average household $2,100 annually, according to the report compiled on behalf of the Coalition for Affordable American Energy, which receives funding from more than 180 business groups.

The findings are in contrast to a recent EPA estimate that climate legislation could cost each household between $98 and $140 per year.

We have seen the jobs run away from the Obama administration. I'm sure that he thinks that the greenie jobs he intends on creating will eventually make up for the losses. I'm afraid he's mistaken. Whatever jobs he creates in the government sector will have to be paid by the folks in the private sector. The green jobs that are created depend on the ability of the folks to participate in the green fraud.

I say again that while I do support recycling, voluntary waste stream control, and laws and controls against anybody intentionally harming the environment. When the whackos start saying that cows farting and fat people being another cause of global warming they just make udder idiots of themselves. When their outspoken God, Prince algore lives in a mansion that will house twenty families and uses enough energy for that twenty families per year! That proves to me that he doesn't even believe it himself. When the great Messiah Obama jets around like a high school kid joyriding 'cept his joyriding costs about $100k per hour and spews tonnes of the carbon the enviro-freaks hate.

I think I'll never really take global warming seriously. That, of course is the mantra of the lefty.

Illegal Aliens

Speaker of the Democrats Nancy Pelosi, the Frisco Ho, has decided to lay some love on the illegals from other countries. Now I'm guessing that means the Al Queda, Hamas, Hezbollah, MS 13 as well as the illegals from Mexico. It is impossible to separate one from the other. That is why we have immigration laws. SanFran Nan has mental defects that prevent her from understanding this. If the voters in the north of Soviet California would realize this maybe they would again be part of the United States. Fat chance, eh?

I hear that president Obama says he is going to get tougher on border enforcement. Of course he has instructed his Homeland Security Chief to stop enforcing many of the laws that make our country more secure so that is just another of his not meaning what he says for public consumption. Privately he can say, let 'em come on in, before the next vote we'll pass an amnesty bill and I'll get re-elected no matter what." That tells me that he is supporting the drug running and killing by illegals as well.

While we are on that subject. If Obama would really like to control the drugs coming into the United States it would be a not so simple, but doable proposition. All that has to be done is:

1. If you get a check from the government, city, state, or federal you take a pee test and are subject to randoms if the computer chooses your name.

2. If you get a check from a movie studio, recording studio, anyone in the entertainment industry you take a pee test and are subject to randoms if the computer chooses your name.

3. If you get a check from the Media...big one here, you take a pee test and are subject to randoms if the computer chooses your name.

4. And the most critical. If you are a teacher in the public school system you take a pee test and are subject to a random if the computer chooses you.

I'm guessing that the idea is getting across that if you receive compensation in the USA for anything you are subject to drug testing. I don't see this as a further invasion of rights, they've already destroyed that by invading the transportation industry. The ones who say "I don't care, I'm smokin' weed & doin' snort" are just homeless losers. The Salvation Army has a position for them. Where there is no market for drugs there will be no drugs.

Letter

This was printed in Waste and Recycling News 2-20-2009 in response to the question....How well do you think the economic stimulus package will work?

When Pres Obama was still Candidate Obama one of the things he ran on was not having the "same failed policies of the last eight years". Now I see that he is putting forth the same "failed policies". If this bill had only work related programs that would have immediate impact, it may be a worthy risk. There is so much social engineering and flatout giveaways to special interests in this that it is very questionable whether it will work. I have my doubts.

I again ask the question. Did no one listen to the man when he was running for president?

Truck Turbines

In the late seventies, early eighties there were these trucks running up and down the road with huge smokestacks and intakes.I had the oportunity to talk to a driver who operated one of them. He said that the engine was very quiet, got great mileage and had no visible exhaust. We could tell by the way that it ran in the mountains or on the flat it had power beyond anything else on the road. They just kind of faded out as we saw less and less and then kind of just went away.

I hadn't thought of them again until lately in another blog "Trucks That Work" had a post that jogged the ol' pumpkin. I'm now wondering why, with all the concern about saving energy and stopping pollution, the gobment don't throw some money at this. I am seeing they have so much to throw at rich bankers and labor unions they should have a little left over for R&D of an idea whose time has come. Heck Sen John McCain wanted to give a hundred million to someone who could invent a battery.

Today'sadvantages to turbine power are many Who knows what tomorrow could bring.

one-third less burnt fuel than current piston engine technology
30%+ less fuel emissions and greenhouse gasses
fewer nitrogen oxides (NO, NO2, N2O2) and carbon monoxide (CO) emissions
operates on all fuels: hydrocarbon, hydrogen and synthetic
flex fuel and mixed fuels capability
no pistons or valves, and no lube oil, filters or pumps
fewer moving parts means less maintenance
high power-to-weight ratio
air cooled and lightweight: less than 2 lbs. per hp
cold start capability

The cost is compatible to today's diesel engines, about $25k. The horsepower range is fantastic 300hp to 1000hp. I don't know about the reliability, but if this engine does what it is touted to do, there is no other downside to it. I can't even see the algore sky-is-falling freaks being against it.

We now see that pouring corn in the tanks doesn't work. The new bios burn dirtier, are less efficient, and cost more. Well, they have succeeded in driving the cost of food up. I guess that's a success....for them.

Lord Obamamama is going to have to get on the stick. He can no longer coast and say "It's George Bush's fault".

Gun Control

This has been making the email rounds on the web for some time. As I was reminded by my brother this cannot be published too often. Anybody that tells you that they are passing gun laws, "for the good of the people"....Question their motives. The only reason the government would have for taking your guns is control over you and your life and property.

An interesting note: Australia, after banning guns has not only had an increase in gun deaths, thay have also had an increase in knife deaths. The criminals that run the government are attempting to make it illegal to carry a knife. They may have already. This tells the mugger or the crazed islamo-facist that the law abiding populous is gentled down enough to attack with absolute impunity.

"From my cold dead hands"

"An armed society is a polite society"

In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, a total of 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.

China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated

Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, one million educated' people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century because of gun control: 56 million.

It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by their own government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500 million dollars. The first year results are now in:

List of 7 items: Australia-wide, homicides are up 3.2 percent Australia-wide, assaults are up 8.6 percent Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)!

In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent. Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not, and criminals still possess their guns!

While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months, since criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed.

There has also been a dramatic increase in break- ins and assaults of the ELDERLY. Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased, after such monumental effort and expense was expended in successfully ridding Australian society of guns. The Australian experience and the other historical facts above prove it.

You won't see this data on the US evening news, or hear politicians disseminating this information. Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws adversely affect only the law-abiding citizens.

Take note my fellow Americans, before it's too late!

The next time someone talks in favor of gun control, please remind them of this history lesson.

With guns, we are 'citizens'.

Without them, we are 'subjects'.

During World War II the Japanese decided not to invade America because they knew most Americans were ARMED!

Guilty?

I have been watching the circus that is Illinois politics for a while now. How can we not? With the very short career of our now president-elect Barack Obama thrown into our lives and the now world famous Gov Rod Blagojevich and the claims of corruption in his administration.

The Governor has also been accused of attempting to sell the vacated Senate seat of The Obama. The Obama has done an internal investigation and concluded absolutely that neither He or His consorts were involved. I'm hoping that if I'm ever charged with a crime that the law will allow me to investigate and clear myself.

Now I don't know much about the corruption charges, probably no more than any average politician does during his career, but I do know that the US Attorney has torpedoed his own case in regards to the appointment of the Senator.

Blagojevich has broken no law in that case!

When Atty Fitzgerald arrested him for shopping the seat he had done nothing except talk about it. His attorney is going to say he was joking. Then he'll ask haven't you ever "pulled a shuck" on somebody. Think "Candid Camera" or "Punk'd". That in my mind totally absolves him of that "crime". What I'm wondering about is, why did atty Fizgerald jump the gun? Was he instructed to? Threatened? I would like to know. I do know that any atty worth a dime would know that it would sink his case by going in before the crime was commited. That is what makes me believe that he was instructed how to proceed. What I can't figure out is the why.

I don't know if The Obama wants him kept in or thrown out.

OTR Truckin'

I began what was to be a lifetime affair with trucks when I was 19 years old. Oh, I went off and did this and did that for a while but, it seemed that I was destined to work in, on, or around trucks for the largest part of my life. It has been rewarding, damming and frustrating.

I worked as a stable boy at a place called Bar S Stables at Griffith Park in Burbank, Ca. I’m guessing the only reason I went to work there is, I met a girl and she hung out there. Occasionally an over the road trucker would bring horses from Oklahoma for sale or to renew the rentals that were the stables main business. After becoming fast friends with the driver, a Missourian named Delbert Gist, (RIP Deb!!!) my interest was piqued and my career began.

It was very hard to break into the industry in the late 60s, the age required to go over the road was and is 21 years old. I took my first job as a trucker when I was 19 with a company in San Dimas, Ca called Fox Hollow Horse Transportation hauling Thoroughbreds and Quarter Horses up and down the coast of California, going to such places as Del Mar, Santa Anita, Bay Meadows, Golden Gate Fields and many more. After turning 21 I eventually began transporting horses throughout the entire North American Continent. I believe I have been to every racetrack of note in this country for sure, several in Canada and even two in Mexico. You have not lived until you have driven an eighteen wheeler through Juarez on a Saturday afternoon.

The lure of the road became too much and I wanted more freedom than I had with this company so I decided to find a company willing to hire a younker. It was hard I’ll tell ya, You have to keep in mind that when I started driving, the Interstate system was only about 50% complete, mostly around metro areas. Owners back then were sorta scared to let green drivers just take off with a truck & load.

I finally found a 2nd seat position with a company called Big Sky Trucking of Montana. Back during the Viet Nam conflict there were transport companies that were based in agriculture, a non regulated commodity. They were able to haul 70% regulated if they hauled 30% of farm commodities. A loose way of saying we were “hot ‘n heavy” haulers. I learned how to get around the US the way most would never realize. The many times, in fact almost always we would go from coast to coast without touching a state weigh station. It was more physically demanding back then because of the long hours and the routes we had to take. Hauling mostly for the Navy and Army I occasionally hauled the odd Sidewinder or loads of 500 pounders for the Air Force. If people only knew what they were sharing the American highways with back then.

When the war died down I began driving for various produce haulers. With my experience I was a great catch as a driver because of my ability to move illegal loads around. Not jail time illegal, just big dollar citation type illegal. Had my own truck for a while hauling produce for Frenchy’s Markets in Montreal, Ca. With my own truck came lots of payments so I cut wherever I could and hauled as heavy as I could. I ran with my pickup license plate for almost two years. I got caught in Illinois, it cost me $1200 for a year there. That was okay tough, it just meant I was legal. Had they taken me to the scales it would have cost me another $800 for overweight. You didn’t have to be smart to be a state cop in those days.

Since my scanner is broke I used some pics off the net. Similar but not the same as I drove.

Nukes

I have read with interest the letters of local and not so local persons condemning the use of nuclear power plants. We seem to have many "not in my backyard" wierdos here. They overlook the fact that we have one of the largest storage and shipping facility for nukes within 30 mi of here.

The outrageous use of water, can’t they reuse water? The expense, we have and do pay to subsidize the building of dams, big fans, & coal-fired plants now. Why not channel the subsidies into clean burning, reliable nuke power? The latest rant was someone railing against nuclear waste. Funny thing about that, we have several up & running plants in the UsofA and I have not heard of any problems. Europe runs on nuke power, again I have heard of no problems. Believe it, were there any problems the enviro-whackos would be parading in front of every plant in the world.

In 1986 the Chernobyl Power Plant #4 reactor exploded showing the world what could happen with no oversight, no restrictions, shabby building standards and socialist controls. Hmm, could this have been one of the first terror strikes? The world has since tightened standards and security and no incidents have been reported. All these plants are aging though, if they are not replaced, in 10 or 20 years we will undoubtedly be facing a new crisis.

The Chosen One, has said He will put the coal business out of business. Of course that means we will no longer have a plant serving our area and will have to rely on the big fans. We will have to have one in every spot there is a spot to be able to serve the area and of course with an Obama presidency the wind will blow gently forever more.

In an Obama presidency like the Clinton presidency the global warming issue will not be an issue, unless it’s to further His agenda. Those of us that read knew all along that it’s a bunch of hooey. If it wasn’t those who espouse it would alter their lifestyles instead of telling us that we have to alter ours.

As far as the waste issue, we will develope a plan, as I stated earlier they must have a pretty good plan now. We will keep on safely developing ways. As long as we don't just dump it in a landfill somewhere I'm thinkin' it is pretty much under control. Somebody just has to take a stand, slap the whackos down...hard, and say "get out of our way, let us do our jobs".

Bailouts

As we have now found out, the Trillion in giveaways did nothing for the people it was supposed to help. The criminals that we reinstall yearly in Washington just gave it to their already incredibly rich buddies. The bankers that got money just went out and bought more banks. There has been nothing done for the "poor" people it was supposed to help. How shocking!

Today we are going to bailout the United Auto Workers Union and by proxy the "Big Three" auto makers. Mostly it's a bailout so the union is not told to go find a real job. The end to protectionism? What a novel idea. They called them gangsters in the early days. Now they call them union leaders and politicians. They are expecting to be paid back for the ton of money they gave The Messiah for the election though. This will be a down payment. Contrary to what the whiners are saying, it is a bailout, it's not a loan. I can't think of anything more exciting than having to give money to a company for the privilege of buying it's product.

Watching the news, again I see that 41 states have their hand out for a bailout. They've been giving taxpayers money away as fast as they can rake it in and are so far in the red they don't know if they can keep their heads above water. Again the sky is falling, children are going to starve, and the fat welfare momma won't get her Big Screen TV. Of course, cutting giveaways will not work. They won't even stop giveaways to illegals, to their shame....and to ours for keeping them in control year after year.

I saw in the newspaper that one of the larger print media has gone bankrupt. Several of the existing ones, after years of mismanagement are also on their knees begging for the bailout cash. Nothing surprises me any more. The Exalted One will probably give them some of our money too. After all they lied for him and refused to print facts or even investigate his past.

Where will it end? That's a big question.

History?

For those that don't know about history ... Here is a condensed version:

Humans originally existed as members of small bands of nomadic hunters/gatherers. They lived on deer in the mountains during the summer and would go to the coast and live on fish and lobster in the winter.
The two most important events in all of history were the invention of beer and the invention of the wheel. The wheel was invented to get man to the beer. These were the foundation of modern civilization and together were the catalyst for the splitting of humanity into two distinct subgroups:

1. Liberals, and
2. Conservatives.

Once beer was discovered, it required grain and that was the beginning of agriculture. Neither the glass bottle nor aluminum can were invented yet, so while our early humans were sitting around waiting for them to be invented, they just stayed close to the brewery. That's how villages were formed.

Some men spent their days tracking and killing animals to B-B-Q at night while they were drinking beer. This was the beginning of what is known as the Conservative movement.

Other men who were weaker and less skilled at hunting learned to live off the conservatives by showing up for the nightly B-B-Q's and doing the sewing, fetching, and hair dressing. This was the beginning of the Liberal movement.

Some of these liberal men eventually evolved into women. The rest became known as girlie-men. Some noteworthy liberal achievements include the domestication of cats, the invention of group therapy, group hugs, and the concept of Democratic voting to decide how to divide the meat and beer that conservatives provided.

Over the years conservatives came to be symbolized by the largest, most powerful land animal on earth, the elephant. Liberals are symbolized by the jackass.

Modern liberals like imported beer (with lime added), but most prefer white wine or imported bottled water. They eat raw fish but like their beef well done. Sushi, tofu, and French food are standard liberal fare. Another interesting evolutionary side note: most of their women have higher testosterone levels than their men. Most social workers, personal injury attorneys, journalists, dreamers in Hollywood and group therapists are liberals. Liberals invented the designated hitter rule because it wasn't fair to make the pitcher also bat.

Conservatives drink domestic beer, mostly Bud. They eat red meat and still provide for their women. Conservatives are big-game hunters, rodeo cowboys, lumberjacks, construction workers, firemen, medical doctors, police officers, corporate executives, athletes, Marines, airline pilots and generally anyone who works productively. Conservatives who own companies hire other conservatives who want to work for a living.

Liberals produce little or nothing. They like to govern the producers and decide what to do with the production. Liberals believe Europeans are more enlightened than Americans. That is why most of the liberals remained in Europe when conservatives were coming to America . They crept in after the Wild West was tamed and created a business of trying to get more for nothing.

Here ends today's lesson in world history:

Mark, you forgot one thing, they way the libs will just stand slack-jawed with an empty look and an empty mind when someone such as the Messiah pres-elect Hussien or Queen of the House SanFran Nan speaks. They do not have a thought of their own.

Where's Obama

It looks like The One has succeeded in getting elected, but does he know what to do with it? He is the first president-elect to hide out and not bask in the warm glow his followers have created. Usually they are out front trying to steal the thunder from the sitting president from the day after the election until they take the oath. Luckily for the Osamabama, the oath is not retroactive.

I've been wondering how the lemmings feel that voted him in? If I were in that unenviable position I would feel as if I had been kicked in the crotch. He hasn't even taken office yet and the lies and excuses are already starting. To say nothing about his "change". Everybody that he is putting on his team has been complicite in the corruption of the financial world. His sheeple are probably still in awe, unable to see past the check they'll get, free health care, free gas, free groceries, being able to kiss the ground after he passes, or whatever reason they voted for him. I know it wasn't because he was qualified.

I saw on the news last night that there was a fellow that is doing a documentary on the election. It shows how utterly stupid Obama voters are. It was kind of like exit polling, you could see the lines in the background on voting day. Easy things like who is the majority? Who is Nancy Pelosi? Who is Harry Reid? They had no clue. Then I saw on Yahoo this AM that elected officials could only get 44% right on a civics test, I'm thinkin' it's the similar test that an immigrant would have to take to become a citizen.

Packin' Trash

I think I've had enough of the election, er, ah, installation of the Most Merciful.

They always ask "how're things in the trash business?" & I always say "pickin' up". Kind of an inside joke, eh? This has been quite a week for me. Monday AM, a week, I had a message from JBS Swift & Co a meat packing plant about two hours north of here. You may have heard of it, back when they were pandering to their constituents the Border Patrol raided the joint & got about 200 illegal aliens. Oh, the outcry. Separating families, taking food from babies mouths, beating and torturing their women. All right, all right not serious about that last part...but you'da thunk it the way they and the ACLU were caterwallin'.

Back to the story. I was off to make some repairs. In my job it's as much mental as physical. When they call in a breakdown they usually just say "it don't work" if you call them you're lucky to get any information on the breakdown, they say "it don't work".

I finally get up there, we have three compactors in the plant and two of them are not working. The one in the freezer was easy to fix they had just caused it to skip time, kind of like the rotor on your car, when the gear shears off you go nowhere. I said easy and it was, to fix, it took a while to find out what was wrong. Why they think we need computer control to pack trash, I have no idea. Maybe the environazi's got to them as well. I get to the one at the cattle pens and I find it gutted. I'm really pissed off, they are not supposed to touch our equipment. They broke the shaft between the motor and the pump, the printed circuit board is gone and the motor starter is broken. The first thing I do is inform my boss what's going on and then call my contact in the office of the plant and tell them it will be one to two weeks before the parts will come in. She went crazy so I told her to call the office and talk to the boss. I also told her to tell her people to keep their hands out of the control box. What I didn't tell her is that Swift will be billed for the repairs, parts and travel time. I'll leave that to sales. The machine is still down. Waiting on parts.

An Exchange with a Friend

I haven't posted for a while for a variety of reasons. Most importantly I have a job, a home to take care of & a family. I do have a hard time getting extra time on the computer.

I am pretty disgusted over the election of The One. Not over the man, the people that were just following blindly are idiots. Yesterday at work I got into a discussion with a Mexican immigrant, a former border jumper who became nationalized under the great Clinton giveaway. He grew up in the slums of Mexico City, so I really don't blame him for running to El Norte. An Obama supporter, I ask him why?

Obama's for change

Change is good, we need that in DC. So why did you vote for the same old thing?

Huh, He's going to change how everything is done in politics in this country.

Okay, His VP choice has been a Washington insider, entrenched for 36yrs, all of his picks so far are career politicians whose sole goal in life is to make over this country to suit them, NOT to follow the Constitution, the written laws we live and govern by. He has promised to spend trillions of dollars we don't have.

He's going to get it from the rich people.

The rich don't pay taxes. They pay millions to lawyers and accountants to keep from paying taxes. You heard Warren Buffet say "My secretary pays more income tax than I do. There's something wrong with that."

Well, He's going to make it where everybody is equal.

Everybody is equal now. A man made $1.2mil by putting a rock in a box. Al Gore made millions telling people they are affecting weather patterns. If you have the knowledge and the drive the possibilities are endless in this country. Your Messiah wants to take that opportunity away from you. He wants you to again be that peon you were in the slums of Mexico City.

He does not. (very irate now) He is FOR the middle class and the poor.

Raphael, did you not listen to a word he said?

Associations

Socialism

Any of various theories or systems of social organization in which the means of producing and distributing goods is owned collectively or by a centralized government that often plans and controls the economy.

Marxism

The political and economic philosophy of Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels in which the concept of class struggle plays a central role in understanding society's allegedly inevitable development from bourgeois oppression under capitalism to a socialist and ultimately classless society.
Racism

1.The belief that race accounts for differences in human character or ability and that a particular race is superior to others.
2.Discrimination or prejudice based on race.

Now, do I believe that Barack Obama is a socialist? I don't know him so all I have to go on is the people who he associates himself with, the people who support him, and the people who back him. In some cases I have his own words that people say "Oh, He didn't mean it that way!" I'm thinkin' if you don't want it taken "that way", you had better not say it. When Obama says "Share the wealth" that, to me is democrat code talk for "share your Income". Unwelcome "sharing of MY income, read theft, taxation without representation, any other reason they give for relieving me of my hard earned salary is without a doubt another step toward socialism.

Is Obama a Marxist? Again I have only his actions, his associations, and his backers to give me insight into his past and into our future should he be elected. We know he is without a doubt the biggest liberal in DC. He has longtime associates that are Marxist and hate the Capitalist society that made America a great nation. Wm Ayers, Geo Soros, even his wife Michele Obama has stated her disdain for the country that gave her such an opportunity. Will that transfer over to the point of Marxism? It may. He is already sowing the seeds of class envy and hatred. The democrat party has already shown signs of becoming the new bourgeois class. Nancy Pelosi of Soviet California has pretty much said of the Republican party "Let them eat cake". Not a direct quote but, close enough.

Is Obama a Racist? Once more I have only his words, actions, and who he hangs with. The Nation of Islam with the racist Farrakan, the Black Panthers, a former terrorist organisation, and Hezbollah have all endorsed him. He has attended a church that preaches racial hatred almost on a daily basis for twenty years and has He not begun to see it their way?

I said long ago that I believed that the next president would be the one who promised to give away the most. It's lookin' like I was right.

Keep your powder dry.

Curious

I guess what I'm most curious about is how The Obama is going to get his "lower taxes plan" implemented if we were unlucky enough to get him as POTUS. Stop and think about it for just a minute. He will have a Dem House and a Dem Senate, I don't know about you but I have never seen a democrat lower taxes. In fact I'm thinkin' they would rather go through a root canal procedure than even talk about it.

This being election time though they know they have to throw the uneducated a bone. Promise them a tax cut until they win then laugh in their faces. "Oh no, (you stupid little man) that is not what I meant. Promise to give them stuff and when it comes time to pay just say "the man before me left such a mess I can't do it".

Does anybody actually believe a Democrat Congress will actually give him permission to cut taxes? We have to remember that when elected to the Senate he was elected on a promise of lower taxes. He lied then. He hasn't even tried to get such a bill introduced. He has railed against any and all tax cuts that have been presented in the very short time he has been in the Senate. Why should we believe that he is not lying now?

I don't.

Another thing I would be curious about would be. Do you think that an Obama presidency would actually pursue the criminals in congress and in the financial centers that have caused the great upheaval of 2008? I hardly think so. Soros would slap him down so fast his head wouldn't stop turning for three days. He'd look like Linda Blair in The Exorcist. Oh yeah, he is deeply involved so that is a gaurantee he would do nothing. Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Byron Dorgan and Himself to name a few would get a pass.

The Messiah's message is kind of messy but the great unwashed is falling for it, hook, line and we're sunk.

Waste Hauling

A repost from my homepage

I have mentioned that I am in the Waste hauling and disposal business. Kind of a smelly, dirty, infectious type of business. I have decided that the reason they have available such good insurance is the nature of our work. Not really the reason for this particular rant.

I read an article a few days ago by Patricia Anne Tom, one of my favorite editors in “the business”. It was, in a way disturbing, but we should have seen it coming. She told of the new role that the rail services are going to play in the future transport of waste to landfill. Now I’m thinkin’ that this is a great move for many in the industry on the face of it. The tonnage that is now hauled on the highways is enormous.

There are too many roadblocks to opening a new landfill in today’s world. It takes years to get the permits and the environmental regulations are monumental. Besides the fact that everybody is saying “not in my backyard”, while they generate these same mounds of trash.

When we look at the pros, it looks fantastic. We get hundreds of trucks off of today’s aging interstate system and highways, we have a central location to sort and recycle, and we are able to move mounds of trash away from highly congested metro areas easily.

The cons are substantial as well. First you have a huge start up cost. Then you have the same problems of getting permits and enviro concerns. Then you still have the same guy saying “not in my backyard”!

My biggest concern though is the loss of hundreds, if not thousands, of jobs. It’s almost the same as sending our jobs overseas. As a former truckdriver I know how lucrative and attractive a short haul job can be. Not only getting a good to great wage, but being home every night is priceless. I said the same thing when Detroit automated, they dumped thousands of employees, the quality went to hell, and their product went up thousands of dollars.

The bleeding has to stop somewhere. We are beginning to create our own “nanny state”. If we don’t stop eliminating jobs (for whatever reason) we will have more and more people on welfare.
